Yes, I got a story entitled A Rejection accepted for publication, but it is not the metaphysical, depressive, starving artist, introspective piece that you might be envisioning. Instead, it is more of an examination of freedom of expression in the realm of scientific publication.
It is published in Sci Phi Journal, which publishes some very interesting and thought provoking pieces – I don’t know of any other publications that are putting out the mixture of hard science fiction and philosophical explorations that they are.
You can read the story here: A Rejection. You can also head over to the Sci Phi Journal site and download a PDF version, or read the other stories and articles they have posted, which I highly encourage you to do.
Since there is something of an author’s note included below the story in the website version, I probably won’t post something separately here on IGC Publishing. While I could walk through some of how the story changed in revisions and the helpful feedback my writing group provided, I think the note already written says enough about the story and its origins.
I hope that you head over and read A Rejection and the rest of the third quarter issue soon.
