I can see where there would be a certain resonance perceived with Lewis's The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, since the road to the land of the fairies in Phantastes also passes through a piece of old furniture, in this case a desk.

Another classic piece of science fiction, this should take you less than an hour to read, but it will set you thinking for long after you've finished it. You might say that it will keep you thinking after Nightfall.
Mistborn: Final Empire Review
Even before I went on a spate of re-reads this year, I was planning on re-reading Brandon Sanderson’s Mistborn series. A new book is scheduled to come out in the fall, the last in the second Mistborn era, and I wanted to make sure that I was fresh on the whole story to maximize my enjoyment when I read it.

Sandra Day O’Connor’s life is a thought-provoking story in its own right, and takes place in the context of fascinating decisions and occurrences that have shaped and continue to shape the world in which we live. I’m glad that I made an exception to my twenty five year rule for First.

To be honest, I probably should have read the description of this book, or even the subtitle, a little more closely before I picked it up to read. Had I done so, I probably wouldn’t have bothered with it.
