I know, I know. I don’t like it any more than you do. Unfortunately, ISBNs are expensive, and so is maintaining this website with a plan that lets me sell digital books to you. I plan to price my short stories at $1.99, my novellas at $3.99, and my novels between $7.99 and $9.99. I buy my ISBNs at $29.50 per number. That means that I need to initially sell 15 copies of a short story to recoup the ISBN cost. I’ll further need to sell 50 additional copies of short stories a year to fund the website in its current form, or 150 additional copies of short stories a year for the plan that would let me set up a nicer storefront.

Now, as far as up-front business investments go, what’s needed for this endeavor is pretty minimal, but traffic for the site is also pretty minimal for now. If I can start generating decent sales numbers, then I will take down the ads, but for now, they offer me a way to work towards breaking even on this project. I hope that you’ll understand.
