It's finally happening: the series finale, the last Blood Magic story. This is where we see if my efforts to improve my endings have paid off, because I don't only need to satisfactorily conclude a two-part episode, or a season, but the entire series that you've been following for three years.

It’s probably for the best that not every book I pick up seizes me in quite the same fashion that the Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn trilogy did, because it would severely interfere with my writing output if that were the case.

It might seem like an oversimplification, but it is very viable to divide a story into just three parts: beginning, middle, and end.
Checkmate Review
It's always a little bittersweet to come to the end of a series, especially if its one in which you grew truly fond of the characters. Plus, the end of a series is where all of the questions are answered and the open story-lines are tied up in some fashion, so the final book in a series can in many cases make or break the entire series. Getting the endings right is at least as important as getting the beginnings right. Did Checkmate give a great ending to a great series? Yes, yes it did.
Lightbringer Review
After five books, Brent Weeks's Lightbringer series concluded with The Burning White, which I reviewed in the previous post. Since it is the end of a series, I wanted to do a review of the series as a whole, to accompany the review of the final book.
