It seems as if I was just writing last week's writing update, which is perhaps because I have so little progress to report this week. I wrote a measly one thousand words for Balancing Act.
Executioner Release and Author’s Note
Because of the Gilgamesh inspiration, I decided to attempt to write the story in the same style as the Epic of Gilgamesh, and though I do not know for certain, I suspect that is where I lost my readers.
Weekly Writing Update
You hopefully saw September's Blood Magic episode, Drive On, go live this past Friday. I also finished revising Dragon's Hoard and submitted that story to September's Elegant Literature contest earlier this week.
Blood Magic S3:E9: Drive On Release
Nothing truly Earth-shattering happens in this story. Oh, there’s the magic Gruordvwrold rocks, which might show up again, and we get to see some of Evry’s scheming, but this episode is meant to stand alone and just be an adventure that happens.
Weekly Writing Update
I made some progress on revisions to Principles, which I intend to finish next week (that’s October’s episode), and I did a preliminary revision on Dragon’s Hoard, which I will be submitting to a contest next week.
Weekly Writing Update
A decent writing week to report this week, hampered by more time than I expected spent on revisions.
Blood Magic S2:E9: Bread and Steel Re-Release
This almost did not happen. At least, not in the way that you're seeing it. I knew this episode needed significant revisions, especially to the ending, which was a rush job last year to get the episode finished in time for its original release. On my first pass through, which is all that most of these episodes receive, I tried to get it right...and I failed.
Weekly Writing Update
It feels like I did a lot of writing this week, which is only partially true. While I did spend a lot of time working on writing-related things, the actual progress on my main projects was smaller than I wanted, for all that I was accomplishing important tasks.
Weekly Writing Update
August has ended, it's Labor Day weekend, and autumn will be upon us before we know it, which means that I am starting to feel some urgency to finish Blood Magic.
Blood Magic S3:E8: Trust but Verify Release
Surprisingly, this was a challenging episode to write. Going into it, I thought it would be an easy one: the plot is straightforward, there’s plenty to write about it, and we get to see our new Guardcaptain in action.
