If last week was a high wordcount week, this week was the opposite - most of my writing time was occupied in finishing up revisions on both parts of Blood and Dragons (the first part will go live on Tuesday!)
Back and Forth on Pacing
My recent reading of Tad Williams’ Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn trilogy set me to thinking about pacing in a more rigorous way than I have before.

All told, I think I wrote something like ten thousand words of new story or story-related material this week, not including work I did on blog posts and book reviews, which I'd like to think is somewhat respectable for someone doing this as a hobby.
Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn Review
As promised last week, this will be our review for Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn as a whole, assembled trilogy. We’ll be talking in more detail about the story as a whole, and the writing specifically, across all three books.
Description Omission
I’ve recently begun reading Bleak House, a Charles Dickens novel. While I almost always enjoy Dickens novels, with the partial exception of A Tale of Two Cities, the funny thing is that I don’t really read his books for the stories.

I both made as much progress as I wanted to on Blood Magic this week, and not as much as I'd hoped.
Blood Magic S2:E5: In Contempt Re-Release
I'm not one to pat myself on the back too much, especially with regards to my writing - if anything, I probably spend a little too much time talking about what I perceive as the flaws in the writing that I'm trying to convince all of you to read - but this is just a really good episode, at least to me.
